Hi Robert.. how to getting started with SIP? any good tutorials for SIP? like what is SIP, whats the different between SIP in here with SIP in TCP/IP? what are advantages of SIP? in which layer is it in SS7 protocol layers? on application layer? why SIP? and so on, sorry, i’m still newbie, please help..thanks a lot.

There are many good books and websites available to help you with learning SIP. A great place to start is the resource center at Tekelec:

To start to answer your questions (you can get more detail at the link above):
SIP (the Session Initiation Protocol) is the signaling protocol used to establish real-time sessions on the Internet. It provides two primary services: allowing two endpoints find each other (even when their addresses frequently change), and allowing those endpoints to negotiate how they are going to communicate.
SIP runs on top of other transport protocols. Currently, there are standard defi
nitions for using SIP on UDP, TCP, and SCTP (including protecting the SIP messages on those transports with TLS).
