Securing The Network

Service providers are “opening up” their networks to third parties to better serve subscriber demand for personalized services that are accessible anywhere on any device. As you enable third-party services, Tekelec’s Securing the Network solution allows you to:

• Protect your network from fraudulent short message service (SMS) messages, using Tekelec’s SMS Firewall product. With user-definable routing and screening capabilities, you can filter any incoming SMS message. Optional, modular filters provide deep SMS message inspection capabilities and contextual traffic monitoring like content filtering, anti-flooding and pattern detection.
• Track sources of revenue loss in real time and reduce their impact to your bottom line. The Tekelec Performance Intelligence Center (PIC) product family gives you the network-wide visibility to identify security issues and take corrective action when you suspect fraudulent activity.
• Deter mobile handset theft by blocking stolen devices from accessing your network. With Tekelec’s Equipment Identify Register (EIR) product, you can enter a device’s International mobile equipment Identity (IMEI) into the EIR “blacklist” to prevent its registration. You can assign individual and/or ranges of IMEIs to white (allowed), black (blocked) or gray (track) lists.
