Equipment Identity Register (EIR)

Deter mobile handset theft by blocking stolen devices from accessing your network. With Tekelec’s Equipment Identify Register (EIR) product, you can enter a device’s International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) into the product’s “blacklist” to prevent its registration. The IMEI identifies the actual handset, unlike the IMSI, MSISDN and SIM, which are subscriber specific. You can assign individual and/or ranges of IMEIs to white (allowed), black (blocked) or gray (track) lists. Tekelec simplifies IMEI screening by integrating advanced database management and signaling functions. The database is queried using a standard MAP message to determine whether a particular handset may be used in the network.
