5/6/2008  Tekelec Announces First Quarter 2008 Results
  • Revenues of $118.2 million, up 9% Year-Over-Year,
  • Orders of $82.4 million, up 4% Year-Over-Year,
  • GAAP EPS of $0.17 per share, up 325% Year-Over-Year, and
  • Non-GAAP EPS of $0.25 per share, up 67% Year-Over-Year as reconciled below

Results from Continuing Operations
Revenue from continuing operations for the first quarter of 2008 was $118.2 million, up 9% compared to $108.8 million for the first quarter of 2007. For the first quarter of 2008, the Company had orders from continuing operations of $82.4 million, up 4% compared to $79.2 million for the first quarter of 2007. Backlog from continuing operations as of March 31, 2008 was $381.2 million, compared to $417.0 million as of December 31, 2007. Non-GAAP operating margins for the first quarter of 2008 were 22% as compared to 12% for the first quarter of 2007. Cash flows from continuing operations for the first quarter of 2008 were $38.4 million, up 59% from $24.2 million in the first quarter of 2007. ...more
4/17/2008  Tekelec Announces Release Date for Q1 2008 Results
Conference Call

Tekelec has scheduled a conference call for Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 8 a.m. EDT for management to discuss first-quarter results. The Company also plans to provide on its web site immediately prior to the call both GAAP and Non-GAAP numbers (including GAAP reconciliations) for the first quarter and to discuss during this call certain forward-looking information concerning the Company’s prospects for 2008....more
4/10/2008  Tekelec Nominates Krish Prabhu for Election to Board of Directors
Prabhu retired as chief executive officer and president of Tellabs in February, 2008. Prior to joining Tellabs in 2004, Prabhu was a venture partner at Morgenthaler Ventures from 2001 until 2004, where he was involved with the funding and development of several communications and information technology companies. Prabhu served as chief operating officer of Alcatel Telecom from 1999-2001 and as chief executive officer of Alcatel USA from 1997 to 1999. He began his telecommunications career in 1980 at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a member of the technical staff. Among his degrees, Prabhu holds a Master of Science degree and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He has previously served on the boards of public companies Symmetricom, Agere, ECI Telecom and Freescale. ...more

The awards were made under Tekelec's Amended and Restated 2004 Equity Incentive Plan for New Employees in reliance on the "employment inducement" exception to the NASDAQ rules requiring shareholder approval of equity-based incentive plans. The RSUs vest in installments over four years....more
