Maroc Telecom Selects Tekelec’s EAGLE® 5 Signaling Application System

Tekelec Solution to Provide Foundation for Mobile Signaling Network


Morrisville, NC (Wednesday, January 29, 2003) Morrisville, N.C. -(Jan. 29, 2003)- Tekelec (Nasdaq: TKLC) announced today that it had been awarded a contract by Maroc Telecom for its EAGLE 5 Signaling Application System (SAS). The complete turnkey solution will restructure the company’s entire signaling network using Tekelec’s platform and includes a long-term service commitment. Maroc Telecom is the largest telecommunications provider and a leading mobile operator in Morocco.

Tekelec’s EAGLE 5 SAS is a high-capacity, multi-protocol advanced signaling platform. The EAGLE 5 SAS hosts a variety of applications from a single, high-performance platform, including: SS7 signal transfer, number portability, signaling gateway, integrated services, and data mining. The system supports the IETF Sigtran suite of signaling protocols for next-generation network connectivity, creating a clear path forward to packet telephony and 3G networks.
