Ronald J. de Lange
President and Chief Executive Officer
Ron was appointed President and CEO in May 2011 and serves as a member of Tekelec’s Board of Directors. He joined Tekelec as President and General Manager, Network Signaling Group in July 2005. He served in that capacity until October 2007 when he became Executive Vice President, Global Product Solutions.
Prior to joining Tekelec, Ron was at Lucent Technologies for 24 years and served in numerous executive positions. Most recently, as Vice President of VoIP Convergence Solutions, he completed the $300 million acquisition of Telica, Inc, as a culmination of his leadership of Lucent’s Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) product portfolio strategy.
Ron completed advanced management studies at Wharton School of Management and Yale University. A graduate of DePaul University, Ron received a Master of Science in Computer Science. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology. He has published numerous technical papers on subjects including distributed systems and real-time database designs in national and international technical journals.
Ron is a former board member of ATIS – Alliance for Telecommunications Solutions. He recently served for several years as a board member of the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce. Ron has also served as a member of the DePaul University School of Computer Science, Telecommunications, and Information Systems (CTI) Leadership Council.
Gregory S. Rush
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Greg Rush was appointed as senior vice president & chief financial officer in April 2010, following five years of service as Tekelec’s chief accounting officer, vice president and corporate controller. Greg came to Tekelec from Siebel Systems, Inc, where he served as senior director of finance, external reporting & acquisitions. Prior to Siebel, he was senior director, business analysis and financial reporting for Quintiles. Greg began his career in public accounting, serving numerous high technology companies at Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he most recently was a senior manager.
Greg is a certified public accountant (CPA), graduating from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where he received both his Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Science in Business. He graduated with honors and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
David K. Rice
General Manager, Global Signaling Solutions
Dave Rice joined Tekelec as Senior Vice President, Operations in 2006. Dave has over 20 years of operations experience in the telecommunications equipment industry supporting Tekelec’s global signaling solutions customer base spanning more than 100 countries. Most recently, Dave served as vice president, global materials management at Nortel. While at Nortel, Dave also served in a number of senior management roles including Vice President, Wireline & Optical Supply Chain Operations and Plant Manager, Wireless GSM Access. Dave is a graduate from East Carolina University.
Stuart Kupinsky
Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and General Counsel
Stuart H. Kupinsky joined Tekelec in April 2007. Including Tekelec, Stuart has served as the general counsel for four major corporations, including previously for Exide Technologies, a multibillion dollar public company in Alpharetta, GA. Stuart also served as an attorney in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and with the Federal Communications Commission following private practice and a clerkship on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. Stuart holds a degree in electrical engineering in addition to his law degree.
Douglas A. Suriano
Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Engineering
Doug Suriano was appointed as chief technology officer in August 2011, expanding on his vice president of engineering role to further develop Tekelec’s solutions for the mobile broadband era. Doug is responsible for product innovation, leadership in standards bodies and industry forums, and advocacy for innovative mobile data solutions. In his eight-year tenure at Tekelec, Doug led the initiatives to transition Tekelec from hardware-centric products to software-centric solutions and expand the market share of Tekelec’s text and voice solutions. He also headed the development of Tekelec’s Diameter Signaling Router (DSR), the first product of its kind sold to multiple LTE networks.
Doug joined Tekelec from dynamicsoft, Inc. where he was vice president of engineering as well as serving as chief information officer for QAD Inc., Before QAD, Doug managed the information technology division for the United States Marine Corps. Doug earned his Master of Science in Information Technology at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Science at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Houck Reed
Vice President, Broadband Network Solutions Product Management and Operations
Houck Reed joined Tekelec in 2007 and leads a team focused on delivering broadband data solutions including session management, policy and subscriber data management. Primary responsibilities include portfolio strategy and marketing, business analytics, commercial offer management, and quote generation.
Prior to Tekelec, Houck was Director of the product management team at Symantec. Past experience include UTStarcom, Alcatel-Lucent, and Hyperion Software. Houck has his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago and a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from the Yale School of Management.
Luis Pajares
Senior Vice President, Global Sales
Luis Pajares joined Tekelec in June 2010 as senior vice president, the America’s, leading North and South America accounts. Luis has expanded the company’s mobile broadband footprint for 3G and 4G network deployments, including the establishment of Tekelec’s LTE footprint in multiple North American operators.
Prior to Tekelec, Luis was at Airvana where he served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Customer Service since 2003. Luis joined Airvana from Inet Technologies where he served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing. Luis’ work experience also includes DSC Communications NEC America and Texas Instruments. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Florida and an MBA from the University of Dallas.
Denny Miller
Vice President, BNS Customer Service
Denny Miller brings more than 30 years of telecommunications and customer service experience to Tekelec, and has been with the company since 2007. Denny is responsible for global technical and design support, product introductions, software upgrades, and project deployment and training. Prior to Tekelec, Denny held many leadership roles within operations, deployment, project management and interoperability support at Nortel. Responsibilities at Nortel included managing the AT&T Wireless account, directing UMTS deployments, and leading emergency technical assistance, technical support, engineering and installation. Denny attended Penn State University.
Judith Barnett
Vice President, Human Resources
Judith Barnett joined Tekelec in February 2006. As Vice President of Human Resources she is responsible for the company’s global human resources function including talent management, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, compensation, benefits and payroll. Her prior experience includes 20 years of demonstrated expertise in human resources at Nortel, in both the US and Europe, where she provided leadership to multiple organizational units through assignments in Global Compensation, Organization Effectiveness, Leadership Development and Recruitment. Judith is a native of North Carolina and received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Economics from North Carolina State University.
Jeffrey C. Key
Vice President, Corporate Development
Jeff Key has been Tekelec’s vice president of corporate development since 2004. Jeff leads the company’s global merger and acquisition strategy, finalizing negotiations with multiple companies including Camiant, Blueslice, and mBalance, as well as a number of other cross-border deals. Prior to Tekelec, Jeff was the managing partner of his own consulting firm, Key Technology Partners, LLC, as well as managing director of investment banking at Bear, Sterns & Co. Inc. Previous leadership includes serving on the Atlas Pipeline Holdings, LLP board of directors, and experience at Jefferies & Company, Fahnestock & Co. Inc., and Security Pacific National Bank. Jeff graduated from Leeds School of Business of University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
